Swissport expands in Mexico

Swissport International has expanding its ground handling footprint in Mexico through cooperation with AGN Aviation Services.

AGN is the third biggest ground handling provider in Mexico, signed an agreement on jointly providing ground handling services.

Both Swissport and AGN see the value of combining the particular strengths of the two companies – with a large station network on the side of AGN and a global customer base on the side of Swissport, the integrated company will be perfectly positioned to serve its customers.

In order to guarantee a smooth integration of operations and business of both companies, the current owners of AGN will be taking up key positions.

Swissport says together with the implementation of its standards and procedures – the Swissport Formula, will ensure the continued growth of the new company.

The merged company will provide the complete portfolio of ground handling services (passenger and ramp handling) and operate at 28 stations.

Swissport executive vice president for Europe South, UK/IE, MEA, LATAM and global commercial, Juan-José Andrés Alvez, says: “AGN is a customer-centric organization with a material local footprint. The partnership will strengthen Swissport´s position in Mexico, bring across strong management capabilities and pave the way for further expansion within the region – it enables us to offer our customers a country-wide and multi-station solution with the highest standards of quality and reliability.”

Before the partnership with AGN, Swissport was already present with ground handling services in Cancun and is offering cargo handling services at three stations in Cancun, Guadalajara and Mexico.
