Swiss WorldCargo receives first Bombardier CS100

Swiss WorldCargo has taken delivery of its first Bombardier CS100, which will enter service on 15 July, and improve temperature control capabilities on short haul flights.

The new aircraft’s first flight will be LX638 Zurich – Paris Charles de Gaulle, and the CS100 will replace the Avro RJ100. The CS100 offers a 25 per cent reduction in carbon emissions compared to the RJ100, halves noise emissions, has the same cargo capacity as the RJ100 in terms of volume and weight, and the front cargo department is fully heated and ventilated.

SWISS International Airlines head of cargo, Ashwin Bhat says: “Compared to the RJ100, the CS100 reduces carbon emissions effectively, a fact which is often demanded by our customers. This new generation aircraft from Bombardier guarantees the high reliability and constant level of services within our quality solutions.”

SWISS will be taking delivery of more C Series aircraft, and will use them on services to Manchester, Prague and Budapest in July, Warsaw and Brussels in August, followed by Nice, Stuttgart, Hanover, Milan, Florence and Bucharest in September.
