SkyTeam Cargo appoints Peter Penseel as new chair

SkyTeam Cargo, the airline cargo alliance, has announced Peter Penseel, President – Delta Cargo, as the new chairperson of its Cargo Executive Board. Penseel replaces Teddy Zebitz, Saudia Cargo CEO, who has served two terms in the role since 2021.

Penseel, a Dutch national, brings more than three decades of experience in various roles across the air cargo, freight forwarding and logistics sectors. Prior to joining Delta, he served as Chief Operating Officer of airfreight at CEVA Logistics and, in 2021, was named Cargo Executive of the Year by Air Cargo World.

“It is an honour to take the helm at SkyTeam Cargo as the alliance approaches its 25th anniversary year,” said Penseel. “There are exciting developments ahead for SkyTeam Cargo, and I look forward to working with a world-class network of like-minded cargo carriers as we strive to take our global offering to new heights.”

Teddy Zebitz said,” SkyTeam Cargo leads the industry in delivering an extensive global network and product portfolio underpinned by a commitment to seamless service. I wish Peter all the very best for his tenure and look forward to seeing SkyTeam Cargo’s future growth and success.”

Penseel’s career includes senior leadership positions at Qatar Airways Cargo, DHL Global Forwarding and UTi Worldwide, and he also serves as a member of the Supervisory Board of Maastricht Aachen Airport in the Netherlands.
