Singapore Airlines commits to 777-9 and 787-10 orders

Singapore Airlines has committed to purchase 20 Boeing 777-9s and 19 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, and has recommitted to its previous order of 30 787-10s.

Boeing says the 777-9 will be the largest and most efficient twin-engine commercial aircraft and advanced technology will include a new composite wing, all-new engines and superior aerodynamics to improve fuel efficiency.

The 787-10 is the third member of the 787 Dreamliner family and has greater passenger and cargo capacity with greater fuel efficiency and lower emissions than aircraft it replaces.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and chief executive officer, Kevin McAllister says: “Singapore Airlines has been a valued Boeing customer for more than 50 years and we are honoured they have selected the 777X and additional 787-10s to expand its future widebody fleet.”
