Oil & gas flying high as Volga-Dnepr transports equipment to Seoul

Volga-Dnepr Airlines is benefitting from the upturn in the movement of oil and gas cargo with its latest delivery of pump and vaporiser skids to Seoul, South Korea.

Volga-Dnepr used one of its Antonov AN-124-100s to transport the cargo from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg in Switzerland to Incheon International Airport on behalf of Air Charter Service France’s customer, Heppner Transport & Logistics.

The shipment included two pieces weighing 19.5 tonnes and two weighing 14.8 tonnes, loaded using the AN-124-100’s on board crane system. The shipper prepared special wooden frames to fit underneath the lighter pieces to help with the loading process.

Air Charter Service France cargo director, Alexandre Busila says: “The loading of this cargo needed meticulous preparation with the Volga-Dnepr Team. Thanks to our joint work the flight was a real success. This charter project shows that the O&G industry is still doing well.”
