CHAMP Cargosystems has completed Kalitta Air’s implementation of its Weight & Balance application used to manage its load planning more effectively.

The US all-cargo carrier has a fleet of Boeing 747 Freighters and B767Fs, and recently obtained Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval for use of CHAMP’s application with its freighter fleet.

Kalitta Air operates freighters to Afghanistan, Argentina, Bahrain, Colombia, Egypt, Hong Kong, Israel, Pakistan and other international destinations, while also running extensive air cargo services across the US.

Kalitta Air chief executive officer, Conrad Kalitta says: “Kalitta Air is delighted with its decision with CHAMP’s Weight & Balance, and is confident it will be a key benefit for the months and years to come.

“Integrating this software is proof that using the most up-to-date IT solutions will reduce fuel consumption, and improve accuracy with a highly effective automated process.”

CHAMP’s vice president for global sales and marketing, Nicholas Xenocostas explains the
ongoing relationship with Kalitta Air and CHAMP’s Weight & Balance has been a “natural fit”.

He adds: “The software is right at home with Kalitta’s expanding fleet. Kalitta’s devotion to accuracy in its processes will make load planning ever more efficient and effective. We are confident this is only the start of a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”

CHAMP’s says its Weight & Balance product is a new generation java based, modular built application enabling airlines to efficiently and safely plan all aircraft loads. The application also helps the user keep the aircraft within permissible centre of gravity limits throughout the flight.
