Jettainer provides AA Cargo with Cool Management

Jettainer has welcomed American Airlines Cargo as a customer for its ‘Cool Management’ system, giving the airline access to the ULD provider’s Cool Center of Excellence in Abu Dhabi.

After a successful test run, the centre has been managing the entire fleet of American Airlines Cargo’s reefer containers.

The ‘Cool Management’ service includes leasing, managing and position as well as process-related monitoring.

Transporting temperature-sensitive airfreight requires complex interaction between shipper, forwarder and airline and the owner of the container, which entails risks that Jettainer minimises.

Carsten Hernig, managing director of Jettainer says: “The management of reefer containers is a very complex part of ULD management. With our expertise in global ULD management, we can help increase efficiency between all supply chain participants in this process as well. We are optimistic that we will be able to further expand this service.”

Tom Grubb, global head of pharmaceuticals and healthcare for American Airlines Cargo says: “For many years, Jettainer has been a valuable partner in the management of our regular ULDs. Now, with the addition of active temperature-controlled containers, we have comprehensive, end-to-end tracking and management of all ULD types used for our customers’ valuable cargo.”

Martin Kraemer, head of marketing and PR at Jettainer adds: “Cool Management is the newest of our services and complements our product range by an attractive field which is increasingly demanded within the market. With our flexibly combinable product modules, we also meet the demands of many customers for individual solutions.”
