Aeroflot’s domestic volumes continue to make up for international weakness, with cargo and mail increasing by 10.5 per cent in May to 13,077 tonnes.

International volumes fell by 11.2 per cent to 6,500 tonnes in May while domestic cargo and mail rose by 45.8 per cent to 6,577 tonnes. Year-to-date volumes increased by 14.2 per cent to 61,343 tonnes, with international cargo and mail up two per cent to 31,864 tonnes and a domestic increase of 31.1 per cent to 29,479 tonnes.

The load factor increased by 1.7 percentage points to 62.1 per cent in May, with domestic increasing by 5.7 percentage points to 67.3 per cent, and international falling by 0.6 percentage points to 59.1 per cent.

During the first five month, Aeroflot added three Boeing 737-800s, one Boeing 777-300ER, five Sukhoi Superjet 100s and four Airbus A320s to its fleet, with five Airbus A319s, one A320 and four Airbus A321s being phased out. Aeroflot’s fleet increased by three aircraft to 170.
