Chapman Freeborn picks De Clercq as charter sales manager for France

Chapman Freeborn has appointed David De Clercq to the role of charter sales manager for France, overseeing cargo charters and on board courier services.

In his newly created position, Paris-based De Clercq will work in close cooperation with the company’s long-established team in Belgium and offices worldwide.

De Clercq has 15 years of aviation experience having previously held positions at companies including CityJet, Flightcare and Jetairfly, and prior to joining Chapman Freeborn, he was a senior cargo charter account manager with a Paris-based charter company.

Regional manager, Chris Vandenplas says: “We are delighted David is bringing his expertise to Chapman Freeborn. Our cargo team in Belgium has been serving French clients for a number of years – but David’s excellent reputation and knowledge of the local charter market will help us to open new doors.”

Chapman Freeborn says De Clercq’s appointment represents a further strengthening of the company’s services in the region, and the Belgium office celebrated 20 years of operations earlier this year.

The office, which has relocated to Bruges, first opened at Ostend Airport in 1997 and initially served as an operational unit to support the wider group’s international cargo charter projects.
