Breaking news: Runways back in operation at LHR following runway lights problem

Following earlier runway lighting issues this morning at London Heathrow Airport which threatened massive disruption to flight services, a statement from the airport says that “both runways are now open and operational. We’re continuing to monitor the situation [and] apologise for any disruption.”

Fears that aircraft containing bellyhold cargo were being diverted to other airports were reduced as airlines suffered delays in take offs and landing.
