Air France KLM sees growth in April

Air France KLM ended its slump in volumes with revenue tonne kilometres (RTK) increasing by 0.9 per cent in April.

Cargo in RTK was up by 0.9 per cent to 709 million in April while capacity in available tonne kilometres (ATK) was down by two per cent to 1.1 billion, and the load factor increased by 1.7 percentage points to 60.9 per cent. Volumes in RTK for the year are still down on 2015 by 7.5 per cent to 2.7 billion. Capacity in ATK is down by 6.6 per cent to 4.6 billion and the load factor is still 0.6 percentage points below 2015 at 59.7 per cent.

In April, Air France saw RTK increase by 6.7 per cent to 304 million, with ATK up by 2.8 per cent and the load factor increasing by two percentage points to 54.2 per cent. KLM saw RTK fall by 3.1 per cent but capacity dropped by six per cent, helping the load factor increase by 2.1 percentage points to 67.2 per cent.
