Air Canada Cargo is to end its partnership with Cargojet, cancelling freighter services across Mexico, the USA, South America and Germany.

The two airlines started their first flight on 10 June 2016, with flights to Bogota in Colombia and Lima in Peru using a Boeing 767-300 Freighter, providing 52 tonnes of cargo capacity.

Services to Mexico City, Frankfurt, Atlanta and Dallas-Fort Worth were also being operated using freighter aircraft.

The agreement is expiring at the end of the year and Air Canada Cargo says it will not be extended.

Air Canada says it will continue to provide cargo services on wide-body passenger flights in most of the markets, adding daily 767 passenger flights between Canada and Mexico, and three additional weekly frequencies between Canada and Lima in 2018.

It says: “We will continue to offer our extensive trucking network facilitating connections to widebody flights out of US cities like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Newark or connect to widebody flights out of Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal.”
