AEI inducts fifth 737-400 freighter conversion for Kalitta Charters

Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) has inducted its fifth 11 pallet Boeing 737-400 freighter conversion for Kalitta Charters, to be redelivered in July 2018.

The aircraft arrived at Commercial Jet’s Miami facility to commence modification before being returned in the summer.

AEI says its 737-400SF is the only passenger to freighter conversion that offers operators 10 full height 88”x125” container positions, achieved by the main deck cargo door’s location, which is about 40” further back than the competition.

It says that the additional container position increases AEI’s volumetric carrying capability by 10 per cent.

The AEI 737-400SF will provide Kalitta with a flexible Ancra CLS capable of carrying multiple ULDs including 10 88”x125” ULDs in P1 to P10, or eight 96”x125” in P1 to P10 and one 53”x88”x64 pallet or AEP/AEH or 60.4”61.5” AKE/LD3 or 61.5”x88”x56H AYY in P11.
