DHL has announced it has become an official partner to War Child UK, a specialist charity that supports children affected by conflict, providing them with the necessary resources and support for a better future.
War Child UK works in conflict-affected countries in the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, responding to emergency situations and working with communities to create safe spaces to help children heal and learn.
DHL will provide transportation, distribution, or other logistical support to help the charity reach more children in need and deliver aid more efficiently. With a presence in 220 countries and territories, and the world’s largest transportation network, DHL has more than two decades of experience delivering aid and humanitarian response where it’s needed.
John Pearson, CEO of DHL Express says: “Our purpose ‘Connecting People. Improving Lives’ is brought to life in different ways every day and I’m proud that we’re extending our impact to the lives of children living through conflict, through this partnership with War Child UK. Our extensive global network and experience providing humanitarian aid will not only bring much-needed support to children around the world but create a new opportunity for our employees to make a real difference.”
As part of the partnership DHL will also provide support for War Child UK fundraising events, such as the charity’s Secret 7” and Day of The Girl campaigns. In addition, DHL executives will provide pro bono consultancy support to War Child, sharing their experience and expertise on cross-border logistics and building a successful culture, to help the charity strengthen its international network.
Helen Pattison, CEO of War Child UK says, “We are excited about War Child UK’s partnership with DHL, which we know is going to deliver a lasting difference for children whose lives have been torn apart by war. This transformational partnership is the first of its kind for our organisation, with DHL not only supporting our fundraising campaigns but also collaborating with our team to offer a wide range of support, including logistics assistance. DHL’s role delivering vital aid and supplies will have a significant impact on our programmes and help us provide a better world for children living in conflict. We are hugely grateful to everyone at DHL.”
